A new comprehensive waste management company has been launched to support the UK commercial waste industry, which is currently facing significant challenges driven by increased regulatory pressure and growing sustainability demands.

Wastecom is set to help redefine the waste management industry by offering fully independent, end-to-end solutions tailored to businesses of every size and sector. From a single wheelie bin for a takeaway shop to managing complex waste operations for major construction or retail developments, Wastecom will deliver scalable, transparent, and compliant waste services nationwide.
As more companies aim to improve recycling rates and meet ESG goals, the need for tailored, circular solutions is growing, but the fragmented supplier market makes it difficult to find one provider that can do it all. These combined pressures are reshaping the industry, opening space for more agile, broker-led models that deliver smarter, more adaptable service.
“Our strength lies in independence,” said Ryan Marshall, Director at Wastecom. “We work across a network of trusted suppliers, not just one, which gives us the flexibility to match the right service with the right provider, with back-ups in place if things shift. That means less strain for clients, better outcomes for suppliers, and a smoother, smarter service all round. We are not tied to any single provider, which means we always act in our clients’ best interests - auditing, consulting, and managing waste streams with complete objectivity.”
Wastecom enters the market with a strong leadership team that brings over six decades of combined experience in the waste management sector via a unique, independent owner-managed waste management model. The team’s breadth of experience covers every stage of the waste journey: generation, transportation, treatment, and data management.
The management team consists of Ryan Marshall, a waste management consultant with over 15 years of industry experience. Ryan previously spearheaded the development of a multimillion-pound waste service from scratch. His extensive consulting portfolio includes some of the most high-profile and largest retail destinations in the UK.
Rob and Dan Meads, founders of UK demolition and land remediation company Demcom, successfully built and exited a multi-million-pound waste management business before establishing their current, fast-growing business.
Fellow Wastecom Directors Liz Trangmar, Laura Johnson and Chris Winfield have extensive experience within the waste industry, having successfully worked at management level for national waste organisations.
Mr Marshall continued: “Wastecom is set to deliver tailored solutions at speed; helping clients stay compliant, cut costs, and reduce environmental impact. We independently audit waste facilities, ensuring clients’ duty of care obligations are met. We take on the risk, validate the waste chain, and deliver data that is accurate, measurable, and actionable.
“With a commitment to transparency, compliance, and environmental responsibility, Wastecom is not just a waste services provider, we’re a trusted partner in navigating the complexities of modern waste management.”
New requirements for waste segregation via the Simpler Recycling scheme, particularly food and recyclable streams, are placing pressure on businesses to adapt quickly, while evolving compliance rules are creating confusion - especially around hazardous waste and Duty of Care obligations.
Ryan Marshall added: "The UK waste industry is under real pressure - not just with collections, but with communication, compliance, and rising regulatory demands. More bins are going out, more segregation is required, and the whole system is being stretched. We aim to take the sting out of that.”
Many waste management providers in the UK are under pressure due to driver shortages, depot constraints, and infrastructure gaps, leading to service delays.
Wastecom is planning to raise the bar in terms of customer service. Ryan added: “Clients will have a direct line to a dedicated account manager, not just a generic support team or call centres.
Wastecom believes in real relationships, with local people supporting local businesses. We act as the middleman - not just facilitating services, but actively supporting both the client and the supplier to ensure everything runs smoothly, transparently, and efficiently.”

Client stories by new Wastecom customers:
Redwell Brewery - Sam Brown
As a growing brewery, Redwell had previously received reliable waste services under our Director Ryan’s former waste company. When Wastecom launched, continuing the relationship was an easy decision. The brewery now benefits from tailored collections for food, glass, and general waste, as well as skips. This, along with the same trusted communication and attentive service they’d come to rely on, was why they made the switch to Wastecom.
Brewery owner Sam Brown noted the personal support: “We feel looked after, not left behind - the service is consistent, and Ryan and the team genuinely cares.”

Resins ‘R’ Us - Matthew Brister
As one of the UK’s leading resin-bound supply companies, Resins ‘R’ Us needed more than just bin collections - they required proper compliance support and expert advice on specialist waste. Wastecom delivered on both. Alongside managing their regular waste streams, we now provide ongoing consultancy for hazardous and aggregate waste, helping the company stay compliant, responsible, and focused on growth.
Matthew Brister, Operations & Transport Manager of Resins ‘R’ Us shared: “We finally have real support for compliance and consultancy - not just collections. It’s made a huge difference to how we manage our waste and will mitigate our carbon footprint as we continue to grow.”
